Anime Music Videos (AMVs) are a cool fusion of two things I like - anime and music. AMVs are quite popular among anime enthusiasts. You can find a lot of them on YouTube and similar sites. AMV contests are rather popular at anime conventions, and my cousin even won a prize last year at a convention for an AMV she made. For no particular reason, I want to share some of the AMVs that have really touched me.

WARNING: These are very sad, at least to me. If you're not in the mood to cry I suggest you skip this video feature.

The first one is an AMV done with the anime 5 Centimeters per Second and the song From Where You Are by Lifehouse. I think it really captures very well the theme of the movie. This is a great joining of a beautiful song with a beautiful anime (one of my favorites, in fact).

This next one is done with the anime The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (another favorite) and the song She is the Sunlight by Trading Yesterday.

This last one uses an anime called Rumbling Hearts and the song Goodbye to You by Michelle Branch. I've never seen this anime, but the AMV makes me curious to watch it. This video also made me realize just how much more dramatic impact the word "sayonara" has than "goodbye". The Japanese language is awesome. ^_^

I hope you enjoyed them, even if they did make you a little sad. Personally, I think they're beautifully done. If you've got an AMV you really enjoy, post a link in a comment to this article. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing these! I really enjoyed watching all of them. Now that I have a new laptop and am starting fresh I've been thinking about anime again. I was watching Diamond Daydreams today and thinking I really needed to finish Ergo Proxy. I've also added Rumbling Hearts to my netflix queue. (I already have a thought on another song that'd be good with it, I just need to actually watch the anime so I know what's going on) And I'm downloading 5 Centimeters Per Second. And I still need to watch the Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Anyway it was great to see an update!

These videos are so touching! I've seen Rumbling Hearts before, and I couldn't finish all the episodes because it was just so depressing and sad. I couldn't take it anymore T.T

I really enjoyed seeing these. The second one makes me want to watch The Girl Who Leapt Through Time again, I really enjoy that one. Don't know if I want to see Rumbling Hearts now that Arcadia said they are really sad, maybe if the ending is good it would be worth it. (you know me - I like happier endings - or at least ones that give you a bit of hope)I really do love AMV's, they seem to give a better quality to the music they feature sometimes - better than alot of mainstream videos. Maybe its because alot of thought and work usually goes into the design of them. Anyway - thank you for posting these here. I do have a few I really like but I'm not sure how to link them here.

I really enjoyed these videos. Thanks for sharing! I really want to see 5 centimeters per second. Still haven't gotten to that one. This is one of my all time favorite AMV's though it is from a video game. But I love the game and I thought this song suits the characters perfectly! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbsPm6wRkgM

Another awesome AMV from one of my favorite animes, Clannad. This anime is both funny and really sad. First anime that had me sobbing. But if you keep watching it has a happy ending. :)
